Kappa Gamma Chi (ΚΓΧ) is a local professional and philanthropic sorority that was founded at Emerson College in 1902. Kappa Gamma Chi is Emerson College's oldest and only professional sorority. The local Greek organization is dedicated to the promotion of women's advancement in society, personal growth, and community service. Kappa Gamma Chi is fundamentally dedicated to and was founded on the principles of professionalism, community service, and sisterhood and these three organizational pillars are present in their on-campus events, workshops, external outreach, formal functions, weekly business meetings, and the new member education process. The four cornerstones that uniquely define the values of the organization are love, loyalty, harmony, and trust. Kappa Gamma Chi's mission statement is to promote professionalism in its members while benefiting the Emerson College and Boston communities through a wide variety of service based activities. The organization has a long-standing tradition of excellence in the communicative arts as well as community service and civic engagement. Kappa Gamma Chi participates in and helps facilitate various community service events each semester, including blood drives hosted by the Red Cross, sponsored awareness weeks like the National Eating Disorder Awareness Week and Emerald Empowerment (which raises awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault, female empowerment, and a culture of consent), environmental clean-ups, serving in local homeless shelters, legislative letter-writing, Relay for Life, and the Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk. The sisters of Kappa Gamma Chi work diligently each spring to host their annual Emerald Empowerment Week (formerly known as Take Back the Night), which is a week-long of events and year long advocacy campaign dedicated to raising awareness about domestic abuse, sexual violence, and women's issues, and to raise money for local women's shelters. The week features guest speakers, self-defense workshops, performance festivals, and Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues. It began in 1997 and is the sorority's proudest accomplishment and deepest commitment. Kappas are professional, engaging, giving, and vibrant assets to the Emerson College community and the Boston community as a whole. Each sister prides herself on superior work in her chosen field, and the pledge process is one of the most preparatory exercises for the professional world available. Kappa's motto is, "Once a Kappa, Always a Kappa," and are sisters and friends above all else. General Information: Kappa's Colors are Emerald Green & Pearl White. Their mascot is an owl. Kappa's flower is the Lily of the Valley. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Kappa Gamma Chi」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
